DuoScore Terms of Use
DuoScore is made by Edgar Ordóñez, an independent developer based in Barcelona, Spain, reachable at support@duoscore.app. These terms cover your use of DuoScore, the app for writing, playing and practising guitar, bass and drum parts on iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo. By downloading or using DuoScore, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. What happens to your data is in the Privacy Policy.
The short version: your music is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. DuoScore works offline on your device, so keep backups of your songs. It's provided as it is, without guarantees, and the unlock lasts as long as the app is available and works on your device.
Apple's licence
DuoScore is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it. Where the two disagree, Apple's licence applies. Apple isn't responsible for DuoScore, its content or its support.
How DuoScore works
- DuoScore runs on your device and works offline. It has no account and no servers: we don't host, receive or see your songs.
- Your songs are saved on your device, in DuoScore's folder in the Files app. Syncing through iCloud Drive isn't part of version 1.0.
- Keeping copies of your songs, for example in your device's backups or by exporting them, is up to you. As we never have a copy, we can't recover a song that's lost.
The free trial and DuoScore Unlock
- The 7-day free trial gives you every feature for 7 days. After it, DuoScore stays a player: your songs open and play, with the mixer and practice tools. Writing, saving and export need DuoScore Unlock.
- DuoScore Unlock is a single in-app purchase, €9.99 in the euro area (the App Store shows the price where you live). There's no subscription.
- Apple handles the payment, any refund and the record of your purchase, under Apple's own terms. Refunds are asked for at reportaproblem.apple.com. To use the unlock on another device, sign in with the same Apple Account and choose Settings → Purchase → Restore purchases.
Your music and other people's
- You keep all rights to the music you write in DuoScore and to the files you make with it. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to it.
- You alone are responsible for what you write, import, export and share with DuoScore. Don't use it to copy, transcribe, distribute or perform music in a way that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, for example by recreating a copyrighted song and sharing it. Whether a use is allowed is yours to check.
- Because DuoScore works offline and we host nothing, we don't see, monitor, review or store your content, and we take no responsibility for it or for how you use it.
Intellectual and industrial property
- DuoScore's own code, design, screens and texts, the DuoScore name and logo, and this website belong to Edgar Ordóñez and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. Using DuoScore gives you no rights in any of them beyond the licence described above.
- Don't use the DuoScore name or logo, or anything that could be mistaken for them, for your own products or services without our written permission. You're welcome to mention DuoScore by name, for example to say a file was made with it or to review it.
Using the app fairly
Don't copy, resell or redistribute DuoScore, get around its trial or its purchase, or take it apart beyond what the law allows.
Updates and the life of the app
- DuoScore Unlock is a one-time purchase. It unlocks DuoScore for as long as the app is available and compatible with your device and your version of iOS. "Paid once" or "for good" means the lifetime of the app's availability and compatibility, not your lifetime or any fixed period.
- We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue DuoScore, or stop making updates, at any time and without notice. A new device or version of iOS may stop supporting it.
- If DuoScore is no longer offered, a copy already on your device keeps working for as long as iOS allows it, but we can't promise you can download it again.
No warranties
DuoScore is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it's fit for a particular purpose, of satisfactory quality or free of infringement. We don't guarantee that DuoScore will be error-free, uninterrupted or secure, that bugs won't happen or will be fixed, that it will open, play, show or save any file exactly as another app does, or that it works with every device or file.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, songs or files (including .gp, PDF and MIDI files), loss of work, profits or goodwill, or damage to or problems with your device, arising from your use of DuoScore or from not being able to use it, even if we were told they might happen. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for DuoScore in the 12 months before it.
Your rights under the law
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn't let an agreement waive or limit: under Spain's consumer law (the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users, Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007), including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content, or under the law of the country where you live. Nor do they limit our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, such as for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury. If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Using DuoScore after that means you accept the new version.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you live in another country of the European Union, you also keep the protection of its consumer law that can't be set aside by agreement, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live as well as in Spain's.
